Little Alba’s Heartbreak: Rejected and Left Hurt
It was a cold, bitter day in the forest, but nothing was colder than the heartbreak little Alba was about to endure.
Hungry, tiny, and seeking the warmth only a mother could provide, poor little Alba scampered up to his mother, Anna. All he wanted was a sip of milk and a warm, loving hug. He let out soft, trembling cries, looking up at Anna with big, pleading eyes.
“Mommy, please… I’m so hungry,” his tiny whimpers seemed to say.
But Anna was cold and indifferent. She was ready to move on and refused to give him milk. Instead of gently comforting her baby, she turned her back on him. Refusing to give up, little Alba tried with all his tiny strength to cling onto her arm, hoping for her approval and a single moment of affection.
Instead of opening her arms, Anna grew irritated. With a harsh push, she shoved him away to break his grip.
The push sent tiny Alba tumbling backward off the edge of a high stone. Losing his footing, he plummeted through the air and hit the hard ground below with a thud.
For a terrifying moment, the forest went quiet except for the quiet gasp of the fallen baby monkey. Bruised and aching from the fall, poor little Alba slowly pushed himself up from the dirt. Trembling in pain, he dragged his sore little body over to sit down against a rock to rest for a moment.
As he sat there alone in the dirt, the physical pain was nothing compared to the deep sorrow in his heart. Why was his mama being so mean? Why did she reject him and push him away when all he did was love her?
He sat there, weeping non-stop, his shoulders heaving with uncontrollable sobs. His tiny heart felt completely broken as he watched Anna walk away into the distance without even looking back.
