Lola’s Painful Journey — The Little Monkey Who Survived a Terrible Dog Attack

On the east side of the ancient Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap, Cambodia, there is a troop of monkeys known as the Cabizila troop. Their home is surrounded by a long, beautiful moat, and every day they move through the area searching for food, playing together, and watching the visitors who come to admire the temple.

Among them was a tiny and lovable baby monkey named Lola.

Lola was one of those little monkeys who seemed to bring happiness wherever she went. Almost every day, she could be seen riding closely with her mother, Leyla, as they crossed the road and made their way toward the moat. Mother and daughter would search together for food left or offered by visitors.

For Lola, life seemed simple and happy.

She played with the other young monkeys in her troop, chased her friends around the trees, climbed, jumped, and explored the world around her. She was especially friendly and curious around people. Lola was never particularly afraid of humans, and she would sometimes come close to the group of cameramen who visited the troop and filmed their daily lives.

The cameramen had watched Lola grow.

They knew her playful personality and recognized her familiar little face. Whenever Lola came around, she often became part of their videos, allowing them to capture precious moments of her childhood. Over time, the group became protective of her and cared deeply about what happened to her.

But one evening, Lola’s happy childhood suddenly changed.

The Terrifying Attack

Lola was playing and running near a villager’s house when something frightening happened.

A large black dog suddenly chased after the tiny monkey.

Lola tried to escape.

But the dog caught her.

The attack was violent and terrifying. The little monkey suffered serious injuries to her right arm and right leg, leaving her with multiple deep wounds. She lost a frightening amount of blood and was left exhausted and barely able to move.

For a tiny baby who had spent her life playing with friends and following her mother, this must have been an unimaginable experience.

And then there was her mother.

Leyla had to watch her little daughter suffer.

When Leyla found Lola, the mother immediately stayed close to her injured baby. Lola was crying from the terrible pain, and Leyla could do little except hold her close and comfort her.

Lola’s right arm was badly injured, with a fractured bone that left her unable to move it normally. Her little body was exhausted from the attack.

They managed to provide medicine for her wounds and gave her plenty of food and milk to help her regain her strength.

Every day became a struggle.

Every night was another battle.

Lola had to endure the pain from her wounds while her broken arm slowly began to heal. She could not move like she used to. She could no longer run and play freely with her friends.

Sometimes, all she could do was stay close to her mother.

And Leyla remained there.

Through the difficult days and nights, Lola continued fighting.

Little by little, the wounds began to heal.

Her strength slowly returned.

The terrible injuries that had once covered her little body gradually became scars from a painful chapter of her childhood.

But sadly, her right arm never completely returned to normal.

The fracture had been too severe. Even after Lola recovered from the attack, she could not use that arm properly as she had before.

She learned how to climb and play while protecting her injured arm.

She continued growing alongside her mother and the Cabizila troop.

Lola was still that friendly little monkey who loved being around her troop. She was still curious about the world. She was still loved by her mother.
