Weaning time is one of the most difficult stages in a baby monkey’s early life. For many little ones, mother’s milk is not just food; it is also their greatest source of comfort, warmth, and security. But when the time comes for mothers to stop breastfeeding, these innocent babies often struggle to understand why everything has suddenly changed.
One by one, the little babies approach their mothers, hoping to enjoy their familiar milk. They cling to their mothers’ bodies, search for their breasts, and make adorable little begging sounds. Some babies even hold tightly onto their mothers, desperately hoping that Mom will change her mind.
Unfortunately, their mothers are becoming increasingly strict.
Whenever a hungry baby tries to get close for milk, Mom quickly turns away, covers her chest, or pushes the little one aside. Some mothers even use their hands to block their babies from approaching. No matter how loudly the little ones cry, Mom seems determined to maintain her decision.
Poor babies!
They cannot understand why the milk they enjoyed every day is suddenly forbidden. Their little faces look confused and disappointed. Some throw tiny tantrums, scream loudly, and repeatedly reach for their mothers. Others cling to Mom’s belly, refusing to give up their familiar nursing routine.
The saddest part is watching a baby who is still emotionally attached to Mom struggle with this new boundary. After being gently pushed away, the little one may sit nearby, staring at Mom and waiting for another opportunity.
But Mom remains firm.
For the mothers, weaning is a natural part of raising their growing babies. They are encouraging their little ones to become more independent and learn to find other sources of food. However, for the babies, this transition can feel like losing something very precious.
As the day continues, some little monkeys eventually become distracted by playing, exploring, or eating solid food. Others still return to their mothers, hoping for just one more comforting nursing moment.
What a difficult chapter in their little lives!
Although these babies may cry and protest today, gradually they will learn to grow stronger and more independent. And hopefully, even without mother’s milk, they will continue receiving plenty of cuddles, grooming, protection, and affection.
